My Philosophy to Helping
My philosophy of helping comes from a deep belief that every person deserves to feel seen, supported, and understood. I approach therapy holistically, respecting the powerful connection between mind and body. I believe that psychotherapy can benefit anyone—whether you are going through a difficult season or simply wanting more clarity, balance, and hope in your life.
Through approaches such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, reality therapy, behavior management, insight-oriented work, and positive reinforcement, I help clients gently explore their experiences and discover practical ways to move forward. Therapy does not have to be long-term; even short-term, solution-focused conversations can spark meaningful and immediate positive change.
More Information About My Therapeutic Approach
My therapeutic style is warm, supportive, and grounded in decades of experience across diverse settings, including universities, private practices, residential programs, and outpatient clinics. I have had the privilege of working with late adolescents, young adults, women, members of the LGBTQ community, trauma survivors, couples, families, and older adults navigating life transitions.
In our work together, my goal is to help you feel empowered, understood, and equipped. Whether you are managing stress, easing anxiety, working through depression, healing from trauma, strengthening relationships, or building self-esteem, we will work side-by-side to develop tools and insights that support your emotional well-being. I aim to create a space where you feel safe to grow, explore, and rediscover your strengths.
Why Going to Therapy Does Not Mean You Are Weak or Flawed
Coming to therapy is an act of courage, not a sign of weakness. It means you value your well-being enough to seek support, understanding, and growth. Life brings challenges to all of us, and choosing therapy simply means you are taking a compassionate step toward caring for yourself.
You do not need to be “broken” or in crisis to benefit from talking with someone who listens without judgment. Therapy can offer new perspectives, emotional relief, and skills that help you move through life with greater ease and confidence. Reaching out is brave—and it reflects strength, resilience, and a deep desire to create a healthier, more fulfilling life.
